Testimonials from Patients of San Diego Dentist Dr Mark Griffiths

Dear Dr. Griffiths,
Etiquette allows a married couple a year to write their thank yous but just the other day I was wondering how much time you have to write thanks yous when you get divorced.
There have been many times that I have sat down to write out my thoughts on this amazing experience that I call my "dental miracle." Each time I have felt that there would be NO words that would be adequate for all that you have given to me...and my family. (But I would like to try!)
From the first day that I met you (and you paid me a dollar not to cry) I have found you a man of great honor, great humor, great talent and great kindness. Your warm approach to what you do made me feel comfortable even though I had not been in a dentist's chair for over 17 years. As you carefully mapped out the plan for "giving me back my smile" I was very confident in you and the process.
One of the side effects of Domestic Violence is that you tend not to trust anyone, let alone men. You always have a sense that a person's kindness could at any one time turn violent and you would be betrayed yet again. During my counseling session one day my counselor asked me to name all the MEN that God had put in my life that were great men and were authentic in their lives. He told me that these men were giving me the opportunity to trust again and were helping me heal. As I listed them, I realized that I was beginning to heal and believe that there were great people (and men!) in the world. Dr. Griffiths - you are one of the men on that "list."
One morning as you were drilling some of my teeth you made a kind comment to me and said, "I'm sorry that took a little longer...there was just so much decay." What you didn't realize was that at the same time you were drilling away the decay in my teeth, I could almost feel you drilling away the decay in my heart. Tears streamed down my face - not because I was in pain or uncomfortable, but because my heart was beginning a new life of health, right alongside my teeth. You have not just given me back my "smile" - but you have given me back my heart and soul. Thank you for all that you have given me over these past few months. Your knife story, your new kitten, well - all of it has made me feel valued and respected - and for me - that is new - (especially coming from the male gender.) I feel as though there are not enough words to express the DEPTH of gratitude that is in my heart - but I want you to know that you have not just been my dentist - you have been my hero. You have fought for my health and my dignity and my future - and for that I will be forever grateful.
May the Lord bless you in ways that you cannot imagine - and may you know that your skill as a dentist has changed my smile and your kindness as a man has changed my heart. Your life has made a difference for me!
Thank you from the bottom of my newly healing heart,

-Nancy
